Berlin-Buch: a life science location

Since the beginnings of Buch’s development as a healthcare location in the early 20th century, clinical care and scientific research have existed in close symbiosis.
From its original focus on the fields of brain research and radiology, Buch has developed, over the decades, into a lively scientific community whose work now spans all of the life sciences.
Buch’s science and research profile is shaped by the university research facilities of the Charité hospital(Franz-Volhardt-Klinik, Robert-Rössle-Klinik), the Max Delbrück Centre for Molecular Medicine (MDC), the Forschungsinstitut für molekulare Pharmakologie (Research Institute for Molecular Pharmacology - FMP) and the facilities of the BBB biotechnology campus.
Other research institutes working in the life sciences are planning to relocate to the area.
